City Parks: Titlow Beach Park (Tacoma)
Description: Titlow Park has many amenities, including tennis courts, swimming pool, gazebo, and picnic tables. It is a popular place for diving (I didn't go to the beach side). On the park side there is an extensive fitness trail system which features a small pond and periodic placement of exercise equipment (such as the clever placement of monkeybars shown here). The idea is you walk along the trail and stop to do the exercises for a full-body workout. It is people friendly and dog friendly (they have complimentary poop bags which is a nice touch). If you are looking for a place to picnic with trails to walk your dogs, then this is a great place to go.
Downsides: A frequent, loud train runs next to the park.
Directions: From I-5S, take exit 132 to Highway 16W towards Gig Harbor/Bremerton. Go 4 miles on Highway 16, take Jackson Ave. exit. Turn left onto Jackson. Turn right on 6th Ave. The road winds around for about a mile, follow it down to the park near the water.
